CITY OF BEEVILLE AMENDS STAGE 4 WATER RESTRICTIONS

BEEVILLE, TEXAS — The City of Beeville has approved amendments to certain water-use restrictions under Stage 4 – Emergency Water Shortage Condition of the City’s Drought Contingency Plan.

The City remains under Stage 4 water restrictions. These amendments provide residents with limited relief and additional flexibility while continuing to promote responsible water conservation.

WHY ARE THE RESTRICTIONS BEING AMENDED?

Beeville residents have successfully met the water conservation demands established under the City’s Drought Contingency Plan. Thanks to
the community’s conservation efforts, the City is able to provide additional flexibility for certain water uses.

Recent rainfall and floodwaters originating in the Texas Hill Country have also provided significant inflows into the regional water supply system, drastically improving current water supply conditions.

Current
Regional Lake Levels:

• Lake Corpus Christi: Approximately 90% Full
• Choke Canyon Reservoir: Approximately 23.6% Full

The City Council and City staff are also continuing efforts to establish a secondary water source for Beeville, including drilling a brand-new water well and rehabilitating two existing wells. These critical projects are moving forward full speed ahead and will help strengthen Beeville’s long-term water security.

WHAT HAS CHANGED?

💧Lawn & Landscape Sprinklers
Irrigation and sprinkler systems may be used once every other week on your designated
recycling pickup day, before 10:00 a.m. or after 6:00 p.m.

💧Hand Watering & Drip Irrigation
Lawns, landscapes, foundations, and food gardens may be watered any day of the week using a handheld hose with a shutoff nozzle, five-gallon bucket or smaller, watering can, or drip irrigation system. Watering must occur before 10:00 a.m. or after 6:00 p.m.

🚗 Residential Vehicle Washing
Vehicles, boats, trailers, and other mobile equipment may be washed using a handheld hose with a shutoff nozzle, five-gallon bucket or smaller, or watering can.

🏊 Swimming Pools & Jacuzzis
Pools and jacuzzis may be replenished as necessary to maintain structural integrity. Swimming pools must remain covered when not in use to reduce evaporation. This requirement also applies to hotels, motels, and other lodging establishments.

STAGE 4 REMAINS IN EFFECT

These amendments apply only to the specific Stage 4 provisions identified above. All other Stage 4 water restrictions remain in full force and effect.

The City of Beeville thanks our residents and businesses for their continued cooperation and conservation efforts. While conditions have improved, responsible water use remains essential as the City continues working toward a stronger and more reliable long-term water supply.
