A recent property maintenance inspection was conducted today at 708 NM Avenue C and 508 Ireland, and unfortunately, no significant progress has been made on either property regarding the necessary improvements. Both properties are being brought into compliance with the Building Standards. The order to declare the properties substandard is scheduled for consideration at the next meeting. The meeting on April 28th did not have a quorum, but we are hopeful that a quorum will be achieved in May, which will allow the order to be issued and the properties to be declared substandard. Once the properties are declared substandard, a demolition order will be pursued.
I wanted to provide an update regarding the property. I have visited the location and notified the owners about the situation. A public hearing has been scheduled for March 17 regarding this property under the Building Standards process.
Additionally, an emergency work order has been sent for 708 N. Avenue C.

The property in question belongs to RIOS SANTIAGO A & VIRGINIA G, both of whom have unfortunately passed away. A follow-up on the tax roll was conducted to determine if any payments had been made and to identify the appropriate person to whom notices should be sent. During this process, we identified Mr. David Rios as a potential contact. However, it has been discovered that Mr. Rios is currently incarcerated, and as a result, he cannot be served with the necessary paperwork at this time.
Given the circumstances, we will proceed with addressing the matter through the court system. The issues at hand include debris on the property, a trailer with debris, and vehicles that require attention. We are committed to resolving these violations through the appropriate legal channels. And we have yellow sign that has been posted.
Further updates will be provided as the case progresses.

We have been actively monitoring the property throughout the day in an effort to determine if anyone is staying there. Additionally, we have been closely tracking water usage at the property as part of our investigation. Despite these efforts, we have not been able to gather sufficient evidence to prove that anyone is currently residing at the location.
