NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Beeville Police Civil Service Commission will be administering a 2026 POLICE WRITTEN ENTRY-LEVEL EXAMINATION ON Friday, October 23, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. with accompanying PHYSICAL ABILITY TEST on the same day at 2:00 p.m., weather permitting.

This exam will be at the Beeville Police Training Center located at 608 W. Milam Street in Beeville. Facility doors will be locked at 9:00 a.m. to prevent any disruptions. Be early, don’t be late. These exams will begin the formation of the Eligibility List from which department entry-level positions for the upcoming 12 months will be filled. The starting pay at present is $ 19.134 per hour during the academy and eventually $ 20.090. Currently there is one opening in the department.


All applicants must have a high school diploma and be between 21 and 44 years of age and must make a 70 or better on this exam to continue the other phases of the formation of this Eligibility List. G.E.D. graduates must call before applying. All applicants must have a very good driving record for the last five years and must not have a criminal history. A physical Ability Test will be administered to those who make a passing grade on this written exam and are expected to bring appropriate dress for this physical test. Those still in contention will be required to complete a Personal History Form and a thorough background investigation will be done on all passing applicants who will have to appear for a structured rated oral interview. Dress nice (slacks and shirt) for this interview. A psychological and medical examination will also be administered and must also be passed in order to remain in their grade standing.

Please fill out the application and mail to: Beeville Police Civil Service Commission / 400 N. Washington Street / Beeville, Texas 78102. These applications must be received by the day before this exam. The Background Information Package must also be downloaded and it is recommended that you fill out as much as possible by exam date. Only a few days after this exam will be allowed for completion of the background package.


Applicants who have honorably served in our Armed Forces for more than six months and provide a copy of their DD-214 showing “HONORABLE” for conditions of discharge will be given an additional 5 points to their written exam. Comments on DD-214s addressing poor moral character can disqualify you from a police position in Texas. Applicants hired who are not Basic Peace Officer Certified by the State of Texas will be enrolled in a police academy of the department’s choosing and expense and said applicant/applicants MUST obtain their Basic Peace Officer Certification.

CANDIDATES PUT THROUGH THE POLICE ACADEMY AT THE CITY’S EXPENSE MUST SIGN A TWO-YEAR COMMITMENT WITH OUR DEPARTMENT.

Promptness at both phases of testing and in turning in background packages is imperative.
