Start date: Pending the results of an interview and pre employment drug screen.

Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

A Water Distribution System Pumps & Storage Operator is responsible for the operation, monitoring maintenance and control of the water distribution systems pumping facilities and storage assets in a safe efficient, and regulatory compliant manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Reviews departmental policies and regulations to determine equitable distribution of water.

• Schedules time and amount of water to be delivered to users in accordance with instructions.

• Inspects equipment for need of repair and maintenance.

• Confer with water users to investigate and resolve complaints and public relations problems.

• Notifies water users of changes in policies and procedures.

• Collect and deliver

• Perform other duties as assigned

EXPECTATIONS:

• You are expected to get the Water “D” License within the first year of employment.

• You are expected to get the Water C License within the second year of employment.

•  You are expected to take the initiative make sure you get the required 30 CEUs to maintain the Water “C” License.  

• You are expected to get the Wastewater Collections Operators Class III License within the third year of employment

If you fail to receive and maintain the Water “C” license your employment with the city will be terminated.

MINIMUM REQUIRES FOR EMPLOYMENT

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATION

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  1. • Valid TX Driver’s License or available alternate means of transportation.

    • Minimum Class “C” Distribution License from TCEQ

    • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background investigation

    • Ability to prepare records, reports and other documents neatly and accurately
