The Beeville Economic Improvement Corporation (BEIC) was established by voter approval in June 1996 to support and strengthen the local economy. BEIC is governed by a seven-member Board of Directors appointed by the Beeville City Council.

BEIC operates under the Development Corporation Act of 1979, which empowers cities to finance new and expanding business enterprises within their communities. The corporation functions in accordance with Chapters 501, 504, and 505 of the Texas Local Government Code, which govern the structure and responsibilities Type B Economic Development Corporations.
